Hi! I’m Liz Frederick.
I live and work in Boston, Massachusetts. I’m an illustrator who features both real and imagined birds in my whimsical, bright, and colorful work. I enjoy creating patterns and experimenting with mixed media. When I’m not in my studio, I like to curate my various collections and spend time with my family and our pets.
Artist's Statement
My work reflects a love of mixing the imaginary and the real world and bringing whimsy and color into the everyday.
Beginning with work featuring my grandmother's Little Corella cockatoo, named JacobBird; birds in all their forms, real and imagined, have become my muse for creating. With their captivating plumage, unique shapes and forms, birds are packed with individual personality that continuously inspires me.
Incorporating whimsy and vibrancy to illustrations and surface design is at the forefront of my studio practice.
